Nettrekker vs. Google

I think that Nettrekker is the better search engine over Google. Google might come up with more results but Nettrekker is better because it helps you narrow your results and it gives you ratings which helps you to find better sites faster. Nettrekker was the site that returned more revelant information to me than Google did. Nettrekker is way easier to use because you are in a more refined site and you aren't out on the world wide web. I tried all the things suggested like the dictionary and the subjectheadings and they prove that Nettrekker is better than Google because it helps you to refine your research and find more revalant information.
I tried the I'm feeling lucky button and other things like that but I still like Nettrekker better. When I mispelled my search items Netterkker came up with better things to fix it and more keywords. The rating system on Nettrekker is really nice because it helps you to find information faster because you might not look at a 2 star sight oyu would probably lokk at a 5 star sight.

I have gotten quite a lot of information for my question "Are dairy products healthy for you?". I have gotten lots of websites that support my question saying that dairy products are healthy for you. I have looked for websites on the other side saying dairy products are not healthy but I haven't found really any information on this side of it so I need to look more for articles and websites on this. Points of View

I really like the points of view website because its very easy to use and it comes up with more information then the opposing viewpoints website and i would rather use the points of view website. I think that the best tab to look under is primary documents because it comes up with the best information on dairy products then the other tabs do. The best subject terms are probably dairy farms and dairy products because they help me get my search narrowed down to what I want. It gives some help on citing sources but not that much. I really like the points of view website more than the opposing view website.

Opposing Viewpoints - Focused Research

I think the opposing viewpoints website is really good because it gives me information on both the good health reasons for dairy products and the bad health reasons of dairy products. It is also nice because I can type in any of my keywords and it comes up with information on dairy products and if there healthy or not.

I am going to discuss what dairy products are good for you and what ones are not good for you. My audience will be my fellow classmates. The limitations are to those who eat dairy products.

Validity

Alexa.com is a really good resource to know because it tells you a lot about websites that you might not be sure are real. I typed in the Save the Pacific Northwest Tree Octopus website and it came up with information on it and it said what was on the site like how it talks about the tree octopus that needs to be saved and it also said that the website contains fictitious information. Then I typed in the scorcher movie website and it came up with some information on it but not as much on the first website but it did say like the percentage of people who went there on a day to day basis. It also said which countries have the most visits from people from that country. Then I typed in the last website which was the archaeology.org website and it had very little to say about it. It said that there was like no one who had ever been to the website and that there were very little information on the website. This alexa.com website was really nice because it gives you information on websites and it tells you what on the website and what it is about. I would definatley tell someone about this website and I would use it again.
I will also use this tool to evaluate my web pages for the health topic research. It will be important to evaluate the websites we go to because it will make sure that the information we are using is correct and to make sure it is right.
I will go to alexa.com to check the information on my websites and make sure its correct.
I will also try to find the that the website is valid on the website.
Overall alexa.com is a really good site.

The first topic is more interesting to me because i know a lot about it because i live on a farm. The first topic was way easier to write questions for because i know much more about it. In the first topic the questions would be more flexible to reasearch because i would know where to look.

Validity

The Save The Pacific Northwest Tree Octopus website is not valid. There is no such thing as the tree octopus because octopuses need water to live so they can't live in a tree. On the website it says that the average size of the octopus is 30 to 33 cm. It also says that the octopus can be found in the temperate forests of the Olympic Peninsula on the west coast of America. There has been people that wrote in about seeing it but it doesn't seem real and there are just too many facts that don't seem real.
The Scorcher 6 - Winter 2008 website is not valid. It says it is spose to come out in Winter 2008 well it is Winter 2008 and there is no movie that has came out called Scorcher 6. It's plot is also very dull because it says that like half the world froze. There are no critic reviews either so that means no critics have seen it. There is also no rating of the movie so no one has seen the movie. It also has been in other movies. The Scorcher 6 website is not valid.
The Zombie Attack at Hierakonpolis website is also not valid. It says that there is a virus called Solanum that infects the brain and turns you into a zombie but there is no such virus. It also says that there was a man back in the year 1892 that says he saw the zombie in a tomb but how do we know he wasn't lying and how do we know the story could have gotten changed over years. There is also know one that has ever seen another zombie so in my opinion I think that all three of these websites are not valid.

Delicious is really cool. I think it will help a lot. This will help to get more done in class and it will be faster. I think this will help a lot so we can learn more cool things like this.

Farming is very important to La Conner and the Skagit County. They talk about how it is important to keep farming going because of the delicious food we get from it on the website http://skagit.wsu.edu/Agriculture/index.htm. Another website that they talk about how farming is important is on the website http://www.darigold.com/. Darigold is a cooperation where farmers send there milk and Darigold makes cheese, ice cream, milk, and other delicious foods. These websites promote the dairy industry and since there are lots of farms they promote tourism. There are some farms that are open to giving tours. There is the Hedlund Family Farm outside of La Conner and they are very well known throughout La Conner. Another place where you can go is a farm called Golden Glen Creamy where you can buy fresh dairy products and sometimes they give tours. This website talks about the Tulip Festival which is a very big event because we get lots of tourists and the tourists buy things at shops and that helps La Conner's econmy. I know that all the information and that these sites are valid because i know the the sites and i know the information is real. I also know because what they talk about in the websites i have seen so i know that it is real.

I have gathered lots of information from books and from websites. I still have to get some more information from some other websites but i am pretty much set to start writing my paper. There was one book I got that was very important to my project and that book was "Skagit Settlers Trials and Triumphs 1890-1920". It gave me lots of facts and information. There was also websites like "http://www.wsu.com/agriculture". That site gave me new info I didn't even know about farming. Overall my paper was successfully written.

Research Tools

These sites will help us on are research skills because we are having to set up these sites so we are already doing research on the internet to find these things. We can also use are gmail to send things to each other so we are all up to date on homework and projects. Plurk will also help us because we will be able to communicate with friends and other people. Blogger is also really nice because it is fun and easy to post a blog.
